When servicing the vehicle with the VIN you entered, the following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the described symptoms.

Condition/Concern:

Concern of interior lamps stay on or retained accessory power (RAP) is inoperative.

Recommendation/Instructions:

  1. Remove the rear door jamb switch in the b-pillar (left and/or right side).
  2. Use a DVOM and check for continuity across the switch while it's unplugged and the plunger depressed.
  3. If there is any continuity across the switch while it is unplugged, replace the switch.
  4. If there is no continuity in the previous step, inspect the back of the switch for corrosion. If corrosion is noticed, replace the switch.

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed. If these steps do not resolve the condition, please contact GM TAC for further diagnostic assistance. This diagnostic approach was developed for the vehicle with the VIN you entered and should not be automatically be used for other vehicles with similar symptoms.
