Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 357441  Size: SH
  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  3. Remove the rear brake hose fitting bolt from the rear brake caliper.
  4. Cap the brake hose fitting to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.
  5. Important: Discard the copper gaskets. DO NOT reuse the copper , replace them.

  6. Remove the copper gaskets from the brake hose fitting bolt.

  8. Remove the rear brake caliper guide pin bolts.

  9. Object Number: 357034  Size: SH
  10. Remove the rear brake caliper from the brake caliper bracket.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 156329  Size: SH
  1. If the brake caliper guide pin is to be reused, clean the brake caliper guide pin using denatured alcohol, or equivalent.
  2. Dry the brake caliper guide pin using non-lubricated, filtered air.
  3. Apply high temperature silicone brake lubricant to the brake caliper guide pin. DO NOT apply lubricant to the brake pad hardware.

  4. Object Number: 357034  Size: SH
  5. Install the rear brake caliper assembly to the bracket.
  6. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 357443  Size: SH
  7. Install the rear brake caliper guide pin bolts.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 31 N·m (23 lb ft).

  9. Install the NEW copper gaskets on the brake hose fitting.
  10. Remove the plug from the brake hose end.
  11. Install the brake hose fitting and fitting bolt to the rear brake caliper.
  12. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 54 N·m (40 lb ft).

  13. Bleed the hydraulic brake system. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding .
  14. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  15. Lower the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
