Removal Procedure
  1. Swing the endgate open.
  2. Remove the trim panel from the endgate. Refer to Endgate Trim Panel Replacement .
  3. Remove the rear body control module. Refer to Rear Body Control Module Replacement - Endgate .
  4. Remove the inner panel reinforcement. Refer to Endgate Inner Panel Reinforcement Replacement .

    5. Object Number: 1204240 Size: SH
  5. Disconnect the electrical connector (2) from the endgate handles.

    6. Object Number: 1229115 Size: SH
  6. Remove the screws retaining the handles to the license plate pocket.
  7. Remove the handles from the endgate.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1229115 Size: SH
  1. Install the handles to the endgate.

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  2. Install the screws retaining the handles to the license plate pocket.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 2.5 N·m (22 lb in).

  3. Connect the electrical connector (2) to the endgate handles.
  4. Install the inner panel reinforcement. Refer to Endgate Inner Panel Reinforcement Replacement .
  5. Install the rear body control module. Refer to Rear Body Control Module Replacement - Endgate .
  6. Install the trim panel to the endgate. Refer to Endgate Trim Panel Replacement .
