Body Control Module (BCM) Setup for Tire Pressure Monitor (TPM)

After replacing the BCM the procedures noted below must be performed in the order they appear for the TPM system to function properly.

Tire Type/Pressure Selection

Since there are many different tire types and tire pressure combinations for different vehicles, it is necessary to select the correct tire type and front and rear tire pressures for the vehicle being serviced.

  1. Install a scan tool.
  2. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  3. With the scan tool select body control module (BCM).
  4. Select Module Setup.
  5. Select Tire Type/Pressure Selection.
  6. Select the tire type as noted on the tire sidewall.
  7. Select the front tire pressure as noted on the drivers door placard label.
  8. Verify the selections made are correct and press the enter key. The scan tool will flash Procedure in Progress, then display Procedure Complete.
  9. Press the exit key to escape.

Tire Pressure Sensor Learn

After BCM, or tire pressure sensor replacement it is necessary to learn each sensor's unique identification codes in to the BCM's memory. This procedure must also be performed after every tire rotation in order to learn the new locations of each tire pressure sensor. Refer to Tire Pressure Sensor Learn .
