Removal Procedure

Caution: Refer to Fuel and Evaporative Emission Pipe Caution in the Preface section.

Caution: Refer to Gasoline/Gasoline Vapors Caution in the Preface section.

Notice: Refer to Fuel and Evaporative Emission Hose/Pipe Connection Cleaning Notice in the Preface section.

Notice: 

   • Do not attempt to straighten kinked nylon pipes. Replace any kinked nylon pipes in order to prevent damage to the vehicle.
   • Do not attempt to repair sections of nylon pipes. Replace damaged nylon pipes.
   • Replace the vapor hoses/pipes with original equipment or parts that meet GM specifications.

  1. Remove the fuel tank. Refer to Fuel Tank Replacement .

  2. Object Number: 1361725  Size: SH
  3. Disconnect the evaporative emission (EVAP) pipe (3) from the engine compartment EVAP hose/pipe. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .

  4. Object Number: 1361712  Size: SH
  5. Disconnect the EVAP pipe (2) from the EVAP canister (5). Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .

  6. Object Number: 1361732  Size: SH
  7. Disengage the EVAP pipe from the retaining clips.
  8. Remove the EVAP pipe from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1361732  Size: SH
  1. Position the EVAP pipe to the vehicle, along the frame.
  2. Secure the EVAP pipe to the retaining clips.

  3. Object Number: 1361712  Size: SH
  4. Connect the EVAP pipe (2) to the EVAP canister (5). Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .

  5. Object Number: 1361725  Size: SH
  6. Connect the EVAP pipe (3) to the engine compartment EVAP hose/pipe. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .
  7. Install the fuel tank. Refer to Fuel Tank Replacement .
