Removal Procedure

Caution: Refer to Fuel and Evaporative Emission Pipe Caution in the Preface section.

Caution: Refer to Gasoline/Gasoline Vapors Caution in the Preface section.

Notice: Refer to Fuel and Evaporative Emission Hose/Pipe Connection Cleaning Notice in the Preface section.

  1. Relieve the fuel system pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief .
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.

  3. Object Number: 1361713  Size: SH
  4. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service in order to disconnect the following from the chassis bundle (2, 3):
  5. • The fuel return hose (1)
    • The fuel filter (4)

    Object Number: 1361725  Size: SH
  6. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service in order to disconnect the following from the chassis bundle:
  7. • The chassis fuel return pipe (1)
    • The chassis fuel feed pipe (2)

  8. Disengage the following from the retaining clips (3-5):
  9. • The fuel return pipe (1)
    • The fuel feed pipe (2)
  10. Remove the chassis pipes from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1361726  Size: SH
  1. Position the chassis pipes to the vehicle, along the frame.
  2. Secure the following to the retaining clips (3-5):
  3. • The fuel return pipe (1)
    • The fuel feed pipe (2)

  4. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service in order to connect the following to the chassis bundle:
  5. • The chassis fuel return pipe (1)
    • The chassis fuel feed pipe (2)

    Object Number: 1361713  Size: SH
  6. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service in order to connect the following to the chassis bundle (2, 3):
  7. • The fuel return hose (1)
    • The fuel filter (4)
  8. Lower the vehicle.
  9. Inspect for leaks using the following procedure:
  10. 6.1. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF for 2 seconds.
    6.2. Turn OFF the ignition, for 10 seconds.
    6.3. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
    6.4. Inspect for fuel leaks.
