Removal Procedure

Caution: Refer to Brake Dust Caution in the Preface section.

Caution: Refer to Brake Fluid Irritant Caution in the Preface section.

  1. Remove the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .

  2. Object Number: 1339849  Size: MH
  3. Remove the brake hose from the brake caliper.

  4. Object Number: 1360988  Size: SH

    Important: When removing the brake hose bolt from the brake caliper, ensure that the copper gaskets are not stuck to the brake caliper or the brake hose.

  5. Remove the copper gaskets from the brake hose and bolt.
  6. Discard the copper gaskets. DO NOT reuse them, replace with NEW copper gaskets.
  7. Using a rubber plug or equivalent, plug the end of the brake hose to prevent excessive brake fluid loss and contamination.

  9. Remove the brake caliper slide pin bolts.

  10. Object Number: 1241368  Size: SH
  11. Remove the brake caliper from the mounting bracket.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1241368  Size: SH
  1. Position the brake caliper assembly on the mounting bracket.
  2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1241367  Size: SH
  3. Install the guide pin bolts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the guide pin bolts to 40 N·m (29 lb ft).

  5. Remove the rubber plugs from the brake hose.

  6. Object Number: 1360988  Size: SH
  7. Install the NEW copper gaskets and bolt on the brake hose.

  8. Object Number: 1339849  Size: MH
  9. Install the brake hose on the brake caliper.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the brake hose bolt to 40 N·m (29 lb ft).

  11. Bleed the system. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding .

  12. Object Number: 1253298  Size: SH
  13. Install the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  14. Lower the vehicle.
