Preliminary Procedures

1. Remove the instrument panel upper trim pad. Refer to Instrument Panel Trim Pad Replacement .
2. Remove the front floor console. Refer to Front Floor Console Replacement .
3. Remove the steering column assembly. Refer to Steering Column Replacement .
4. Remove the instrument cluster assembly. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement .

Instrument Panel Lower Trim Panel Screw/Bolt (Qty: 3)

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

Tighten
2 N·m (18 lb in)

ALDL Connector Screw/Bolt (Qty: 2)

Tighten
2 N·m (18 lb in)

Instrument Panel Lower Trim Panel

Procedure

1. Prior to removing the lower trim panel from the carrier assembly, note the routing of the wiring harness to ensure proper reinstallation.
2. Disconnect all electrical connections.
3. With the aid of an assistant, remove the trim panel from the vehicle.
4. When replacing the instrument panel lower trim panel, transfer all necessary components.
