Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1860283 Size: SH
  1. Remove the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement.
  2. Disconnect the chassis evaporative emission (EVAP) pipe (3) quick connect fitting from the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service.

  3. Disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector (4) from the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve.

    4. Object Number: 1860318 Size: SH
  4. Disconnect the EVAP canister purge tube quick connect fitting from the upper intake manifold. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service.
  5. Remove the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve bracket bolt.
  6. Remove the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve (w/bracket) and EVAP canister purge tube.

    7. Object Number: 1860319 Size: SH
  7. Disconnect the EVAP canister purge tube quick connect fitting from the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1860319 Size: SH
  1. Connect the EVAP canister purge tube quick connect fitting to the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service.

    2. Object Number: 1860318 Size: SH
  2. Position the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve bracket to the upper intake manifold.

    3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Install the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve bracket bolt.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  4. Connect the EVAP canister purge tube quick connect fitting to the upper intake manifold. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service.

  5. Connect the engine wiring harness electrical connector (4) to the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve.

    6. Object Number: 1860283 Size: SH
  6. Connect the chassis EVAP pipe (3) quick connect fitting to the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service.
  7. Install the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement.
