For 1990-2009 cars only
- Clean the sealing surfaces.
- Apply approximately a 3.5 mm (0.138 in) thick bead of oil pan sealant to the joints (arrows). Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers for the recommended sealant.
- Apply approximately a 3.5 mm (0.138 in) thick bead of oil pan sealant (1) to the oil pan. Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers for the recommended sealant.
- Install the oil pan (2).
- Install the 15 oil pan bolts (1).
- Tighten the oil pan bolts on the cylinder block to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
Note: The assembly time, including torque check, must take no longer than 10 minutes.
