Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the camshaft position actuator adjuster. Refer to Camshaft Position Actuator Adjuster Replacement.
  2. Remove the timing belt lower front cover. Refer to Timing Belt Lower Front Cover Replacement.
  3. Remove the timing belt center front cover. Refer to Timing Belt Center Front Cover Replacement.
  4. Remove the timing belt tensioner. Refer to Timing Belt Tensioner Replacement.

  5. Object Number: 2026845  Size: SH
  6. Remove the 4 timing belt rear cover bolts (2).
  7. Note: Oil can escape. Use a cloth, rag or paper to take the oil drain away from all timing components.

  8. Remove the timing belt rear cover (1).

Installation Procedure

  1. Clean the 4 timing belt rear cover threads.
  2. Apply locking compound to the 4 NEW timing belt rear cover bolts.

  3. Object Number: 2026845  Size: SH

    Note: If the cover is contaminated with oil. You have to clean it close.

  4. Install the timing belt rear cover (1).
  5. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  6. Install the 4  timing belt rear cover bolts (2) and tighten to  6 N·m (53 lb in).
  7. Install the timing belt tensioner. Refer to Timing Belt Tensioner Replacement.
  8. Install the timing belt center front cover. Refer to Timing Belt Center Front Cover Replacement.
  9. Install the timing belt lower front cover. Refer to Timing Belt Lower Front Cover Replacement.
  10. Install the camshaft position actuator adjuster. Refer to Camshaft Position Actuator Adjuster Replacement.
