Cleaning Procedure
- Clean the oil pump components with non-corrosive solvent.
Warning: Refer to Safety Glasses and Compressed Air Warning in the Preface section.
- Dry the oil pump components with compressed air.
Visual Inspection
- Inspect the oil pump housing for the following:
| • | Damage, scoring, or debris on the housing surface for the drive gear (1) |
| • | Damage, scoring, or debris in the oil pump relief valve bore (2) |
| • | Damage to the oil pump housing mounting points (3) |
| • | Damage to the threads in the oil pump housing for the oil pump cover bolts (4) |
| • | Damage, scoring, or debris on the housing surface (5) |
| • | Damage, scoring, or debris in the oil pump output port (6) |
- Inspect the oil pump for the following conditions:
| • | Damage to the oil pump cover mounting points (1) |
| • | Damage to the oil pump oil pump drive shaft gear (2) |
| • | Damage to the sealing surface between the oil pump and the oil pump housing (3) |
| • | Damage to the oil pump outer rotor (4) |
| • | Damage to the oil pump inner rotor (5) |
