Engine Coolant Thermostat Replacement 1.6L LXV

1. Open the hood.
2. Raise the vehicle by its full height. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
3. Place collecting basin underneath.
4. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling.
5. Lower the vehicle by its full height.



6. Loosen the radiator inlet hose clamp (4).
7. Remove the radiator inlet hose (3) from the engine coolant thermostat (5).



8. Remove the 4 engine coolant thermostat bolts (4).
9. Remove the engine coolant thermostat socket (3).
10. Remove the engine coolant seal (2).
11. Remove the engine coolant thermostat (1).

1. Clean the engine coolant sealing surfaces.



2. Install the engine coolant thermostat (1).
3. Install the engine coolant seal (2).
4. Install the engine coolant thermostat socket (3).
5. Install the 4 engine coolant thermostat bolts (4).



6. Install the radiator inlet hose (3) to the engine coolant thermostat (5).
7. Install the radiator inlet hose clamp (4).
8. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling.
9. Close the hood.
