Inspect the chime module connector to make sure it is connected properly.

Is the connector disconnected or partially disconnected?

Connect the electrical connector for the chime module.

Inspect fuse F16.

Is fuse F16 open?

Go to Step 6

  1. Inspect for a short circuit and repair it, if necessary.
  2. Replace the fuse.

Did you complete the repair?

  1. Turn ON the ignition.
  2. Measure the voltage at fuse F16.

Does the voltage measure within the specified value?

11-14 V

Go to Step 9

Repair the power supply circuit for fuse F16.

Did you complete the repair?

  1. Disconnect the chime module.
  2. Turn ON the ignition.
  3. Measure the voltage at terminal 8 of the chime module connector.

Does the voltage measure within the specified value?

11-14 V

Go to Step 11

Repair the open circuit between fuse F16 and the chime module connector terminal 8.

Did you complete the repair?

With the chime module disconnected, use an ohmmeter to measure the continuity between terminal 5 of the chime module connector and ground.

Does the resistance measure the specified value?

0 ohms

Go to Step 13

Go to Step 12

Repair the open circuit between terminal 5 of the chime module connector and ground.

Did you complete the repair?

System OK

  1. Disconnect the chime module connector.
  2. Remove the instrument cluster.
  3. Use an ohmmeter to measure the continuity between the chime module connector terminal 3 and the speedometer connector C4.

Does the resistance measure the specified value?

0 ohms

Go to Step 15

Repair the open circuit between the chime module connector terminal 3 and the speedometer connector C4.

Did you complete the repair?

Replace the chime module.

Does the vehicle speed warning chime work after the chime module has been replaced?
