Electronic Service Delivery and the Multiple PC Initiative
The Multiple PC Initiative (MPI) has been embraced by over 3,500 dealerships
nationwide. Those that have chosen to participate have realized improvements in their
service business, as well as increased service technician enthusiasm and loyalty.
The requirement to have ready access to electronic service information and vehicle
diagnostics is more critical than ever. This can only be accomplished by having a
properly configured Techline PC in close proximity to the service technicians with
an ideal ratio of 2 technicians for every 1 PC (2:1).
During 2004, every dealer's service department was surveyed to evaluate the
ratio of Technicians to PCs. Many dealers have already been contacted by their Area
Service Manager (AVM) and Techline Consultant (TC) to review the survey results and
develop a business plan to get to the 2:1 ratio. All other dealers will be contacted
by the end of 2005. Dealers that choose to participate in the MPI program will have
the opportunity to purchase the necessary hardware at a discounted price from GM Dealer
Equipment. The area (TC) will complete the necessary installation and configuration
as well as provide on-site technician training at no cost.

All warranties include full technical support and "Next Business Day"

or more, the price is discounted another $41.34 to $1249.66 each.

a minimum of 4 machines for $253 a month for 2 years. At the end of the lease you
