Go to Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle in Vehicle DTC Information

1. Remove the inoperative vanity mirror bulb.
2. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
3. Turn the interior lamps override switch to the ON position.
4. Using a test lamp, probe between the supply voltage circuit and the ground circuit of the inoperative vanity mirror bulb socket.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 5

1. Remove the inoperative vanity mirror from the headliner. Refer to Sunshade Replacement in Interior Trim for service procedure.
2. Using a test lamp connected to ground, probe the supply voltage circuit of the inoperative vanity mirror connector.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 8

Using a test lamp connected to battery positive voltage, probe the ground circuit of the inoperative vanity mirror connector.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Inspect for poor connections at the lamp socket of the inoperative vanity lamp bulb. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the inoperative vanity lamp. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Repair an open or high resistance in the ground circuit of the inoperative vanity mirror. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Repair an open or high resistance in the voltage supply circuit of the inoperative vanity mirror. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Replace the vanity mirror lamp. Refer to Vanity Mirror Lamp Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 11

Replace the vanity mirror illuminated vanity mirror lamp bulb(s). Refer to Vanity Mirror Lamp Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 11

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
