Turn the power sliding door ON/OFF switch to the ON position.

Does the power sliding door alarm sound continuously?

Go to Power Sliding Door (PSD) Alarm Malfunction

Go to Step 3

  1. Open the power sliding door.
  2. Apply the brake and shift transmission out of park.

Does the power sliding door alarm sound short tones continuously?

Go to Step 5

Do any of the power sliding door open/close or power assist functions operate?

Go to Power Sliding Door (PSD) Alarm Malfunction

Go to Step 7

  1. Turn the power sliding door ON/OFF switch to the OFF position.
  2. Open the power sliding door.
  3. Apply the brake and shift transmission out of park.

Does the power sliding door alarm sound short tones continuously?

Go to Step 12

  1. Place the transmission in park.
  2. Close the power sliding door.
  3. Turn the power sliding door ON/OFF switch to the ON position.
  4. Press the B-pillar OPEN/CLOSE switch.

Does the power sliding door open?

Go to Step 26

  1. Open the power sliding door.
  2. Disconnect the overhead console power sliding door switch connector.
  3. Connect a fused jumper wire from the ON/OFF switch signal circuit terminal to a good ground.
  4. Apply the brake and shift the transmission out of park.

Does the power sliding door alarm sound short tones continuously?

Go to Step 14

Connect a test lamp from the low current battery positive voltage supply circuit terminal in the rear side door actuator control module connector to a good ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 9

Connect a test lamp from the high current battery positive voltage supply circuit terminal in the rear side door actuator control module connector to a good ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 10

Connect a test lamp from battery positive voltage to the ground circuit terminal in the rear side door actuator control module connector.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Test the power sliding door ON/OFF switch signal circuit for an open or high resistance. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 27

  1. Disconnect the overhead console power sliding door switch connector.
  2. Open the power sliding door.
  3. Apply the brake and shift the transmission out of park.

Does the power sliding door alarm sound short tones continuously?

Go to Step 20

  1. Close the power sliding door.
  2. Disconnect the power sliding door B-pillar OPEN/CLOSE switch.
  3. Connect a fused jumper wire to the OPEN/CLOSE switch signal circuit terminal.
  4. Momentarily ground the OPEN/CLOSE switch signal circuit.

Does the power sliding door open?

Go to Step 16

Test the power sliding door ON/OFF switch ground circuit for an open or high resistance. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test the power sliding door OPEN/CLOSE switch signal circuit for an open or high resistance. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test the power sliding door OPEN/CLOSE switch ground circuit for an open or high resistance. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Repair the low current battery positive voltage supply circuit for an open, high resistance, or short to ground. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Repair the open or high resistance in the rear side door actuator control module ground circuit. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test the ON/OFF switch signal circuit for a short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Inspect for poor connections at the overhead console ON/OFF-OPEN/CLOSE switch. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the power sliding door ON/OFF-OPEN/CLOSE switch. Refer to Interior Lamp and Multifunction Switch Replacement .

Inspect for poor connections at the B-pillar OPEN/CLOSE switch. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the power sliding door B-pillar OPEN/CLOSE switch. Refer to Power Sliding Door (PSD) Open/Close Pillar Switch Replacement .

Inspect for poor connections at the rear side door actuator control module. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the rear side door actuator control module. Refer to Rear Side Door Actuator Control Module Replacement .

Re-initialize the power sliding door and operate the system in order to verify the repair.
