Removal Procedure
- Use a heat gun in order to heat the front door auxiliary weatherstrip.
| 1.1. | Hold the heat gun approximately 152 mm (6 in) from
the surface. |
| 1.2. | Apply the heat using a circular motion for approximately 30 seconds. |
- Use a plastic flat-bladed
tool in order to peel the front door auxiliary weatherstrip from the panel
surface.
- DO NOT damage the paint during removal of the auxiliary weatherstrip.
- Use oil-free naphtha in order to clean the body panel.
Installation Procedure
- Warm the body panel with a heat lamp or heat gun to a minimum
temperature of 21°C (70°F).
- Peel the backing from
the front end of the front door auxiliary weatherstrip.
- DO NOT touch the adhesive backing.
- Press the front door auxiliary weatherstrip to the body as you
continue to remove the backing.
- Hand roll the front door auxiliary weatherstrip to the body in
order to ensure proper adhesion.
