Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

1. Install a scan tool
2. With a scan tool, observe the Ignition 1 Signal parameters in the powertrain control module (PCM) body control module (BCM) and the instrument panel cluster (IPC) data list.

Does the scan tool indicate that the Ignition 1 Signal parameters are within the specified range?

10-15 V

Go to Step 4

Go to Charging System Test

Replace the affected module. Refer to Powertrain Control Module Replacement in Engine Controls - 3.4L.
