Removal Procedure

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Caution: Allow the engine to cool before servicing the secondary air injection AIR system in order to reduce the chance of severe burns.

  3. Rotate the engine for service access. Refer to Rotating the Engine for Service Access in Engine Mechanical.
  4. Raise the vehicle.
  5. Remove the manifold pipe to valve bolts.
  6. Lower the vehicle.

  8. Disconnect the secondary air injection (AIR) crossover pipe from the shut-off valve.
  9. Disconnect the vacuum line from the shut-off valve.

  10. Object Number: 529925  Size: SH
  11. Remove the AIR shut-off valve nut.
  12. Remove the shut-off valve bolts from the manifold pipe.
  13. Remove the shut-off valve.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 529925  Size: SH
  1. Install a new gasket between the shut off valve and the manifold pipe.
  2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Install the shut-off valve to the manifold pipe.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the AIR shut-off valve to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).

  5. Install the AIR shut-off valve nut.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  7. Connect the vacuum line to shut-off valve.
  8. Connect the AIR crossover pipe to the shut-off valve.
  9. Install the ICM. Refer to Ignition Control Module Replacement .
  10. Return the engine to its original position. Refer to Rotating the Engine for Service Access in Engine Mechanical.
