For 1990-2009 cars only
- Remove the camshaft thrust plate screws.
- Remove the camshaft thrust plate.
- Complete the following steps in order to remove the camshaft:
Notice: All camshaft journals are the same diameter, so care must be used in removing or installing the camshaft to avoid damage to the camshaft bearings.
| 3.1. | Install a large screwdriver in the camshaft bolt hole. Do not damage the threads. |
| 3.2. | Carefully rotate and pull the camshaft out of the camshaft bearings. |
