The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
Some customers may comment that the power door locks are inoperative and/or the door ajar message is displayed on the IPC. This may be the result of chafed harness in either the drivers or passenger's front door(s).
Recommendation/Instructions:
Remove the driver's door trim and locate the bolt called out as number 1 in the image above. Behind this bolt inspect for a chafed harness. Refer to the call out number 2 in the illustration above. Repair any damaged wires and route harness to prevent
future damage.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
