New Case Cover and Case Cover Hollow Split Dowel Pins for Hydra-Matic 4T65-E (RPO MN7, M15) Automatic Transmission

On December 3, 2007 (Julian Date 338) a new case cover and case cover hollow split dowel pin were released. The dowel pin hole sizes in the new case cover have changed. The 2nd design hollow split dowel pin replaces the 1st design solid dowel pin.

The dowel pin holes in the case cover were modified to receive the 2nd design dowel pin.

When servicing a transaxle built prior to 12/4/07 (Julian Date 338) with a new case cover, you MUST replace the 1st design solid dowel pins with 2nd design split dowel pins.

Important: The 1st design solid dowel pins are a slip fit between the case and case cover. The 2nd design split hollow dowel pins have a press fit into the case and a slip fit into the case cover.

The new case cover is NOT back serviceable unless the new 2nd design split dowel pins are used.

The 1st design dowel pins remain available.

1st Design -- Pin has slip fit to case cover. Pin has slip fit to case.

2nd Design -- Pin has slip fit to case cover. Pin has press fit to case.
