For 1990-2009 cars only
- Measure the end play between the output carrier (1) and the thrust washer (2) at each pinion gear (3).
- Replace the output carrier assembly if the end play exceeds specifications.
- Inspect the wear of each output carrier assembly tooth by placing a straight edge (3) against the side of each carrier assembly tooth (2).
- Observe the wear on the carrier assembly tooth at dimension A .
- If detectable notching has occurred, replace the output planetary carrier assembly.
Specification
The maximum pinion end play is 1.010 mm (0.040 in).
