Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the intake manifold. Refer to Intake Manifold Replacement.
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the oil pressure sensor.

  3. Object Number: 1509591  Size: SH
  4. Remove the valve lifter oil manifold bolts (2).
  5. Important: Do not allow dirt or debris to enter the oil passages of the manifold. Plug as required.

  6. Remove the valve lifter oil manifold (1).

  7. Object Number: 1536553  Size: SH
  8. Do not lift the manifold by the electrical lead frame.

  9. Object Number: 1402024  Size: SH

    Important: Remove only the outer gasket from the manifold. Do not disassemble any of the internal components of the manifold in an attempt to remove the 8 inner sealing gaskets. If the inner gaskets are cut or damaged, replace the manifold as an assembly. Only use a wire-cutter type tool in order to minimize the amount of debris. Do not use a rotary-type cutting tool on the retaining straps.

  10. Identify the 8 gasket retaining strap locations (1-8).

  12. Using a wire-cutter type tool, cut the 8 retaining straps of the outer gasket.

  13. Object Number: 1509593  Size: SH
  14. Remove the outer gasket (1) from the manifold.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1509593  Size: SH

    Important: 

       • All gasket surfaces should be free of oil or other foreign material during assembly.
       • Do not allow dirt or debris to enter the manifold. Plug as required.

  1. Install the service gasket (1) onto the manifold.

  2. Object Number: 1509591  Size: SH
  3. Install the manifold (2) with gasket.
  4. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  5. Install the manifold bolts (1).
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the manifold bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  7. Connect the electrical connector to the oil pressure sensor.
  8. Install the intake manifold. Refer to Intake Manifold Replacement .
