Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 14824  Size: SH
  1. Remove the spark plug wire. Refer to Spark Plug Wire Replacement .
  2. Remove the washer solvent container to gain access to the #2 spark plug. Refer to Windshield Washer Solvent Container Replacement in Wiper/Washer Systems.
  3. Loosen the spark plug 1 or 2 turns.
  4. Brush or using compressed air, blow away any dirt from around the spark plug.
  5. Remove the spark plug.
  6. If removing more than one plug, place each plug in a tray marked with the corresponding cylinder number.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 14824  Size: SH
  1. Correctly position the spark plug washer.
  2. Inspect the spark plug gap. Adjust the gap as needed.
  3. Specification
    Spark plug gap: 1.524 mm (0.060 in)

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  4. Hand start the spark plug in the corresponding cylinder.
  5. Tighten the spark plug.
  6. Tighten

        • Tighten the plug to 15 N·m (11 lb ft) for used heads.
        • Tighten the plug to 20 N·m (15 lb ft) for NEW heads.
  7. Install the spark plug wire. Refer to Spark Plug Wire Replacement .
  8. Install the washer solvent container. Refer to Windshield Washer Solvent Container Replacement in Wiper/Washer Systems.
