Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and Suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Drain the hydraulic system.
  3. Remove the clutch fluid hose bolt and the washer from the clutch fluid hose.
  4. Remove the clutch actuator cylinder bolts (1) from the clutch actuator cylinder.

  6. Remove the clutch actuator cylinder (1) from the transmission.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 460911  Size: SH
  1. Before installing the clutch actuator cylinder to the transmission apply a small amount of grease to the tip of the clutch actuator cylinder. Use lubricant GM P/N 1051344 (Canadian P/N 993037), or equivalent.

  2. Object Number: 460912  Size: SH
  3. Install the clutch actuator cylinder to the transmission.
  4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the clutch actuator cylinder bolts (1).
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the clutch actuator cylinder bolts to 16 N·m (11.5 lb ft).

  7. Install the clutch actuator cylinder fluid line (2) to the clutch actuator cylinder (1) .
  8. Install the clutch actuator cylinder hose bolt
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the clutch actuator cylinder line bolts to 23 N·m (17 lb ft).

  10. Bleed the hydraulic clutch system. Refer to Hydraulic Clutch Bleeding .
