Daytime Running Lights (DRL) Control Module Replacement Without Keyless Entry

Removal Procedure

The daytime running lamp (DRL) control module is located beneath the instrument panel to the right of the steering column.


    Object Number: 473528  Size: SH
  1. Remove the IP steering column opening trim plate. Refer to Instrument Panel Trim Panel Replacement - Left Side in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
  2. Disconnect the DRL control module electrical connector (2).
  3. Remove the following components from the vehicle:
  4. 3.1. The DRL control module mounting bolt
    3.2. The DRL control module (1)

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 473528  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Install the DRL control module (1) to the vehicle. Secure the module with the mounting bolt.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the DRL control module mounting bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  3. Connect the DRL control module electrical connector (2).
  4. Install the IP steering column opening trim plate. Refer to Instrument Panel Trim Panel Replacement - Left Side in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.

Removal Procedure

The daytime running lamp (DRL) control module is located beneath the instrument panel to the right of the steering column. The module is mounted to the remote control door lock receiver bracket (2).

  1. Remove the IP steering column opening trim plate. Refer to Instrument Panel Trim Panel Replacement - Left Side in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
  2. Disconnect the DRL control module electrical connector (3).
  3. Remove the following components from the vehicle:
  4. 3.1. The DRL control module mounting bolt
    3.2. The DRL control module (4)

  2. Tighten
    Tighten the DRL control module mounting bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  3. Connect the DRL control module electrical connector (3).
  4. Install the IP steering column opening trim plate. Refer to Instrument Panel Trim Panel Replacement - Left Side in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
