  1. Apply a continuous bead (1) of silicon sealant, GM P/N 12345997, Canadian P/N 12345997 or equivalent, to the engine oil pan mating surface.

  2. Object Number: 464771  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the engine oil pan. Secure the engine oil pan with the 16 bolts and the 2 nuts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the engine oil pan bolts and nuts to 11 N·m (97 lb in).

  5. Install the engine oil drain plug and gasket.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the engine oil drain plug to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).
