Engine Coolant Fan Upper Shroud Replacement Mechanical

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 1703498  Size: SH
  1. Loosen the air cleaner outlet duct clamps from the throttle body.
  2. Loosen the air cleaner outlet duct clamps from the mass airflow sensor(2).
  3. Remove the air cleaner outlet duct.
  4. If equipped remove the throttle body heater hose retainer from the fan shroud.
  5. If equipped remove the inlet radiator hose retainer from the fan shroud.

  7. Remove the fan shroud retainers.

  8. Object Number: 362162  Size: SH
  9. Remove the fan shroud bolts
  10. Remove the upper fan shroud.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 362162  Size: SH
  1. Install the upper fan shroud.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the fan shroud bolts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  5. Install the fan shroud retainers.
  6. If equipped install the inlet radiator hose retainer to the fan shroud
  7. If equipped install the throttle body heater hose retainer to the fan shroud.

  8. Object Number: 1703498  Size: SH
  9. Install the air cleaner outlet duct.
  10. Tighten the air cleaner outlet duct clamp at the throttle body.
  11. Tighten
    Tighten the clamp to 4 N·m (35 lb in).

  12. Tighten the air cleaner outlet duct clamp at the mass airflow sensor(2).
  13. Tighten
    Tighten the clamp to 4 N·m (35 lb in).
