The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

A "Service Stability Message" appears on the Drivers Information Center as a result of a DTC C0455 set in the Electronic Brake Traction Control Module (EBCM).

Recommendation/Instructions:

If you experience this concern, please do not replace the EBCM. Clear the code, remove the key from the ignition, close all doors, turn off all accessories, and wait for 1 minute. Power up the vehicle and turn the steering wheel to full counter-clockwise lock and then turn the steering wheel to full clockwise lock. Turn the steering wheel back to full counter-clockwise lock once again.

If the C0455 DTC resets or the concern is intermittent, replace the Steering Wheel Position Sensor (SWPS) with updated sensor (GM p/n: 25833069).

If the C0455 does NOT reset, no repairs should be performed. Return the vehicle to the customer.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
