The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

After installation of a, P/N 17800809, GM Performance Parts air induction kit, some vehicles may experience contact between the air cleaner lid and the hood if the hood is closed with high effort.

Ensure the hood stops and latches are properly adjusted. Ensure that the air cleaner box is fully seated. If OK perform the following adjustments:

1. Remove air cleaner box
2. Remove the air cleaner mounting tray.
3. Remove the air cleaner tray support brace



4. Elongate the 2 forward mounting holes 5 mm so that the bracket can be lowered.



5. Reinstall support brace 5mm lower than the original position
6. Slightly bend down the 3 sheet metal mounting points



7. Reinstall the air cleaner mounting tray
8. Reinstall air box
9. Inspect for proper hood clearance

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
