Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 744180  Size: SH
  1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the bolts (2) from the front heat shield (1).
  3. Remove the front heat shield (1) from the transmission.
  4. Remove the bolt (4) and the nut (5) from the side heat shield (3).
  5. Remove the side heat shield (3) from the transmission.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the side heat shield (3) to the transmission.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the bolt (4) and the nut (5) to the side heat shield (3).
  4. Tighten

        • Tighten the bolt (4) to 17 N·m (13 lb ft).
        • Tighten the nut (5) to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
  5. Install the front heat shield (1) to the transmission.
  6. Install the bolts (2) to the front heat shield (1).
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts (2) to 17 N·m (13 lb ft).

  8. Lower the vehicle.
