Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the oil level indicator from the oil level indicator tube.

  2. Object Number: 102291  Size: SH
  3. Remove the bolt securing the transmission fluid level indicator tube bracket to the transmission.
  4. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  5. Remove the oil level indicator tube from the transmission. Pull the tube upward from the transmission.
  6. Remove the seal.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install a new oil level indicator tube seal into the transmission case.
  2. Install the oil level indicator tube into the seal.

  3. Object Number: 102291  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the bolt securing the oil level indicator tube bracket to the transmission.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 47 N·m (35 lb ft).

  6. Lower the vehicle.
  7. Install the oil level indicator.
  8. Check the fluid level. Refer to Fluid Capacity .
