Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle?

  1. Turn the ignition ON, engine OFF.
  2. Operate the wiper switch in the LO, HI, and INT positions.

Are the front wipers inoperative in all modes?

Go to Step 3

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections

  1. Disconnect the front wiper motor connector.
  2. Turn the ignition ON, engine OFF.
  3. Turn the front wiper switch to the HI position.
  4. Test the High speed voltage supply circuit at the wiper motor connector.

Did you measure ignition positive voltage at the wiper motor connector?

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 4

  1. Disconnect the front wiper/washer switch connector.
  2. Turn the ignition ON, engine OFF.
  3. Test the voltage supply circuit at the front wiper/washer switch connector. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs .

Did you measure ignition positive voltage at the front wiper/washer switch connector?

Go to Step 10

Test the ground circuit of the wiper motor for a high resistance or an open condition. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs .

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 10

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the wiper/washer switch. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs .

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 10

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the wiper motor. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs .

Did you find and correct the condition?

Replace the front wiper/washer switch.

Did you complete the replacement?

Go to Step 10

Replace the front wiper motor.

Did you complete the replacement?

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
