Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Gasoline/Gasoline Vapors Caution in the Preface section.

    Caution: Refer to Safety Goggles and Fuel Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1240825 Size: SH
  1. Start the engine and remove the rear seat cushion.

    2. Object Number: 1240833 Size: SH
  2. Remove the fuel pump access cover.
  3. Disconnect the fuel pump assembly electrical connector lock pin.
  4. Disconnect the fuel pump assembly electrical connector.
  5. Crank the engine for an additional 10 seconds.
  6. Relieve the fuel system pressure.

  7. Disconnect the fuel outlet and fuel tank return lines from the fuel pump.

    8. Object Number: 1240856 Size: SH
  8. Remove the fuel pump assembly from the tank.

    9. Object Number: 1225055 Size: SH
  9. Remove the fuel pump assembly (2).
  10. Remove the fuel pump gasket (3).

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1225055 Size: SH
  1. Install the fuel pump gasket (3).
  2. Install the fuel pump assembly (2).

    3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1240856 Size: SH
  3. Install the fuel pump assembly to the tank.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the fuel pump bolts to 3-4 N·m (27-35 lb in).

  4. Connect the fuel return and the fuel outlet line to the fuel pump.

    5. Object Number: 1240833 Size: SH
  5. Connect the fuel pump assembly electrical connector and lock pin.
  6. Install the fuel pump access cover.
  7. Perform an operational check of the fuel pump.
