DT 47527 (DW 260-220) High Clutch Spring Compressor

  1. Replace the O-ring and seal ring with new ones. Apply AT fluid to the new O-ring and seal ring. Then install these in the high clutch piston.
  2. Be careful not to twist or mistake the alignment of the O-ring when inserting the piston.

  4. Be sure to assemble the high clutch plate set components in the right order as indicated.
  5. • Snap ring (1)
    • Retaining plate (2)
    • Friction plates (3)
    • Separator plates (6)
    • High clutch drum (5)
    • Piston (4)

  6. Be careful not to distort the high clutch return spring plate when pressing into position using DT 47527  (1).
  7. Ensure that the snap ring fits snugly in the drum groove.
  8. Ensure that the snap ring opening is not aligned with the stopper.
  9. Ensure that the snap ring opening is aligned with the concave aperture.
  10. Before using a new high clutch plate set, soak it in AT fluid for more than 2 hours.

Operational Check

    Important: If the application limit is exceeded, replace the friction (4) and separates plates (7) with new ones, and select a suitable retaining plate so that specified clearance will be obtained.

    Important: If clearance is less than the application limit, select a suitable retaining plate (3) so that the clearance will fall within the desired range.

  1. Using a thickness gage (1), measure the clearance between the snap ring (8) and the retaining plate (3).
  2. Clearance Specification
    Specification standard is 1.8 - 2.2 mm (0.07 - 0.08 in).

    Clearance Specification
    Specification application limit is 1.0 mm (0.04 in).

    Important: Close the other holes when lowing air using an air gun.

  3. Blow air into the oil inlet of the high clutch drum, and check the functioning of the piston.
