Removal Procedure

Caution: Refer to Exhaust Service Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1230434  Size: SH

    Notice: Broken engine mountings can cause misalignment of certain drive-train components. Misalignment of drive-train components causes eventual destruction of the drive-train components.

    If one engine mount breaks, the rest of the engine mounts will have increased stress put on them. This could cause the rest of the engine mounts to break.

  1. Remove the exhaust manifold. Refer to Exhaust Manifold Removal .
  2. Remove the stabilizer. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Replacement .
  3. Remove the front damping bush bolt and nut, bracket side (2).
  4. Remove the front damping bush bolts, crossmember side (3).

  6. Remove the front bracket bolts, engine block side (1).

  7. Object Number: 1230436  Size: SH
  8. Remove the engine mount front damping bush (1) assembly and the front bracket (2).

  9. Object Number: 1230437  Size: SH
  10. Inspect the engine mount damping bush assembly for crack and damage (1).

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1230439  Size: SH
  1. Install the engine mount front damping bush assembly and the front bracket.
  2. Install the front bracket bolts, engine block side (1).
  3. Tighten
    Tighten the front bracket bolts - cylinder block side to 35-41 N·m (25-30 lb ft).

  4. Install the front damping bush bolts, crossmember (2, 3).
  5. Tighten

        • Tighten the front damping bush bolt - crossmember side to 35-41 N·m (25-30 lb ft).
        • Tighten the front damping bush bolts - crossmember side to 45-55 N·m (33-41 lb ft).
  6. Install the front damping bush bolt and nut, bracket side (1).
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the front damping bush bolt and nut - bracket side to 68-83 N·m (50-62 lb ft).

  8. Install the stabilizer. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Replacement .
  9. Install the exhaust manifold. Refer to Exhaust Manifold Installation .
