SMU - Revised Maintenance Interval for Alternator and Drive Belts

This bulletin is being issued to add the following footnote on the maintenance interval for the alternator and drive belts in the Maintenance Schedule (European Emissions) (SI Document ID 1253035) and in the Maintenance Schedule (Non-European Emissions) (SI Document ID 1353623) in the Maintenance and Lubrication sub-section of the Service Manual.

The following information has been updated within SI. If you are using a paper version of this Service Manual, please make a reference to this bulletin on the affected page.

11. If a vehicle is operated under severe conditions (driving in heavy rainfall, high humidity, or dusty conditions), inspect drive belt every 5,000 km (3,000 miles) or 3 months and change belt every 20,000 km (12,000 miles) or 1 year, whichever comes first.
