BO 46440 (DS 401) TORX Bolt Wrench

Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to SRS Handling Caution in the Preface section.

    Caution: Refer to Eye Protection Caution in the Preface section.

    Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the glove box. Refer to Instrument Panel Storage Compartment Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
  3. Disconnect the passenger air bag module connector.

  4. Object Number: 1223222  Size: SH
  5. Remove the passenger air bag module nuts (2).
  6. Caution: Refer to SRS Handling Caution in the Preface section.

  7. Remove the air bag module TORX bolts using the BO 46440  (4).
  8. Remove the passenger air bag module (1).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1223223  Size: SH
  1. Install the passenger air bag module.
  2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

    Important: Do not reuse the removed TORX bolts. Replace the TORX bolts with the new ones.

  3. Install the passenger air bag module mounting TORX bolts (2) and the nuts (1) using the BO 46440  (3).
  4. Tighten

        • Tighten the passenger air bag module TORX bolts to 15 N·m (11 lb ft).
        • Tighten the passenger air bag module nuts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  5. Connect the passenger air bag module connector.
  6. Install the glove box. Refer to Instrument Panel Storage Compartment Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
  7. Connect the negative battery cable.
