The purpose of New Product Information is to highlight or indicate important product changes from the previous model year.

Changes may include one or more of the following items:

    • A component comparison from the previous year
    • Fastener changes
    • Torque values and/or fastener tightening strategies
    • Changed engine specifications
    • New sealants and/or adhesives
    • Disassembly and assembly procedure revisions
    • Engine mechanical diagnostic procedure revisions
    • New special tools required

Component Comparison

    • Engine Block Heater change to a screw-in type plug
    • Addition of camshaft position sensor assembly installed in engine front cover assembly
    • Camshaft sprocket design change to excite the camshaft position sensor
    • Crankshaft position sensor reluctor ring design change, 58x ring
    • Addition of ignition coil assembly and components
    • Spark plug wire harness assemblies design change, 90 degree angle at coil end

Torque Values and/or Fastener Tightening Strategies

    • Addition of camshaft position sensor assembly bolt torque specifications
    • Addition of ignition coil assembly bolt, ignition coil cover bolt, and ignition coil bracket bolt torque specifications

Changed Engine Specifications

No changes from previous year.

New Sealants and/or Adhesives

No changes from previous year.

Disassembly and Assembly Procedure Revisions

    • Change to block heater procedure
    • Change to oil pump drive assembly, HVS timing not required
    • Change to engine front cover assembly, camshaft position sensor assembly procedures added
    • Ignition coil assembly and component procedures added

Engine Mechanical Diagnostic Procedure Revisions

No changes from previous year.
