Preliminary Procedures

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
2. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
3. Remove the brake shoes. Refer to Brake Shoe Replacement .
4. Remove the wheel cylinder. Refer to Wheel Cylinder Replacement .
5. Remove the park brake cable from the brake backing plate. Refer to Parking Brake Rear Cable Replacement - Left Side or Parking Brake Rear Cable Replacement - Right Side .
6. Remove the rear axle shaft. Refer to Rear Axle Shaft Replacement .
