Power Steering Pump Pulley Replacement 6.6L

Special Tools

    • J 25033-C Power Steering Pump Pulley Installer
    • J 25034-C Power Steering Pump Pulley Remover

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the accessory drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement.

  2. Object Number: 1891140  Size: SH
  3. Remove the power steering pump front bracket bolts (1, 2).

  4. Object Number: 1891139  Size: SH
  5. Remove the power steering pump rear bracket bolts (1).
  6. Pull the power steering pump away from the accessory bracket to gain access to the pulley.

  7. Object Number: 649303  Size: SH
  8. Use the J 25034-C to remove the power steering pump pulley.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 643361  Size: SH
  1. Place the power steering pump pulley on the end of the power steering pump shaft.
  2. Install the power steering pump pulley using the J 25033-C .

  3. Object Number: 245012  Size: SH
  4. Ensure that the power steering pump pulley (1) is flush against the power steering pump shaft (2) with an allowable variance of 0.25 mm (0.010 in).
  5. Reposition the power steering pump to the accessory bracket.
  6. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1891139  Size: SH
  7. Install the power steering pump rear bracket bolts (1).
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the rear bracket bolts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

  9. Install the power steering pump front bracket bolts (1, 2).
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the front bracket bolts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

  11. Install the accessory drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement.

Power Steering Pump Pulley Replacement 4.3L, 4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L, 6.2L

Tools Required

    • J 25033-C Pulley Installer
    • J 25034-C Pulley Remover

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the engine coolant fan upper shroud, if equipped. Refer to Engine Coolant Fan Upper Shroud Replacement.
  2. Remove the accessory drive belt. Refer to one of the following:
  3. • For 4.3L engine, refer to Drive Belt Replacement.
    • For 4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L, and 6.2L engines, refer to Drive Belt Replacement - Accessory.

  4. Use remover J 25034-C to remove the power steering pump pulley.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 643361  Size: SH
  1. Place the power steering pump pulley on the end of the power steering pump shaft.
  2. Install the power steering pump pulley using installer J 25033-C .

  3. Object Number: 245012  Size: SH
  4. Ensure that the power steering pump pulley (1) is flush against the power steering pump shaft (2) with an allowable variance of 0.25 mm (0.010 in).
  5. Install the accessory drive belt. Refer to one of the following:
  6. • For 4.3L engine, refer to Drive Belt Replacement.
    • For 4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L, and 6.2L engines, refer to Drive Belt Replacement - Accessory.
  7. Install the engine coolant fan upper shroud, if equipped. Refer to Engine Coolant Fan Upper Shroud Replacement.
