Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to SIR Caution in the Preface section.

  1. Disable the SIR. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling and to SIR Disabling and Enabling in SIR.
  2. Remove the seat belt anchor bolt and remove the sets belt from the seat guide loop. Refer to Front Seat Belt Replacement in Seat Belts.
  3. Raise the seat to maximum height.
  4. Remove the seat mounting fastener covers.

  5. Remove the 3 front seat mounting nuts.
  6. Remove the front seat mounting bolt.
  7. Disconnect the electrical harness. Unclip the harness from the seat bracket.
  8. Disconnect the yellow SIR electrical connector.
  9. Disconnect the seat belt buckle electrical connector.
  10. Remove the seat from the vehicle.
  11. Place the seat on a clean, prepared surface.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the seat to the vehicle.
  2. Connect the electrical harness. Clip the harness to the seat bracket.
  3. Connect the yellow SIR electrical connector.
  4. Connect the seat belt buckle electrical connector.
  5. Install the front seat mounting bolt. Do not tighten.

    6. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  6. Install the 3 front seat mounting nuts on the floor studs.

    7. Tighten

        • Tighten the front seat mounting nuts to 45 N·m (33 lb ft).
        • Tighten the front seat mounting bolt to 45 N·m (33 lb ft).
  7. Feed the seat belt through the seat guide loop and install the seat belt anchor bolt . Refer to Front Seat Belt Replacement in Seat Belts.
  8. Enable the SIR. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling and to SIR Disabling and Enabling in SIR.
  9. Install the seat mounting fastener covers.
