Verify that the side power door locks are inoperative.

Do the power door locks operate normally?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

  1. Disconnect the side door or lock actuator or liftgate lock actuator that is not functioning.
  2. Inspect the connector terminals for looseness or damage.
  3. Connect a test lamp to the actuator harness terminal A and terminal B.
  4. Push a door lock switch to the LOCK or UNLOCK position on the driver or passenger door.

Does the test lamp light?

Test for an open in CKT 295 (GRY) between the malfunctioning side door lock actuator and the body relay block. Refer to Circuit Testing in wiring systems.

Was an open present?

--

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 6

Repair the open in CKT 295 (GRY). Refer to Wiring Repairs in wiring systems.

Is the repair complete?

--

Go to Step 8

Repair the open in CKT 294 (TAN) or CKT 694 (TAN). Refer to Wiring Repairs in wiring systems.

Is the repair complete?

Replace the defective actuator. Refer to Front Side Door Lock Actuator Replacement or Rear Side Door Lock Actuator Replacement in doors. Or Rear Compartment Lid Lock Actuator Replacement in body rear end.

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
