Repair the short to ground in CKT 2267 (ORN).

Are both mirrors inoperative?

Repair the open in CKT 2267 (ORN) between connector C501 terminal A8 (4 door) or C500 terminal P (2 door) and the underhood fuse block.

  1. Disconnect the appropriate outside rear view mirror.
  2. Turn the Ignition to the run position.
  3. Turn on the defoggers.
  4. Connect the J 39200 digital multimeter (DMM) between CKT 2267 (ORN) at cavity A of the appropriate outside rear view mirror connector and ground.

Does the voltage measure near the specified value?

B+

Go to Step 8

Connect the J 39200 DMM between CKT 2267 (ORN) at cavity A and CKT 1850 (BLK) at cavity H of the appropriate outside rear view mirror connector.

Does the voltage measure near the specified value?

B+

Go to Step 11

Locate and repair the open in CKT 2267 (ORN) between the outside rear view mirror and connector C500 (2 door) or C501 (4 door).

Did you complete the repair?

Locate and repair the open in CKT 1850 (BLK) at the LH outside rear view mirror and G202 or CKT 1050 (BLK) at the RH outside rear view mirror and G205.

Replace the appropriate rear view mirror.
