Removal Procedure

  1. Open and support the hood.
  2. Install protective coverings over the fenders.
  3. Remove the right and the left air inlet grille panels. Refer to Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement .
  4. Discnnect the wire from the under hood lamp, if equipped.
  5. Remove the windshield washer nozzles. Refer to Washer Nozzle Replacement in Wiper/Washer Systems.

  6. Object Number: 302986  Size: SH
  7. Remove the hood hinge from the attaching bolts and the nuts.
  8. With an Assistant, remove the hood from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 302986  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. With aAn Assistant, install the hood to the vehicle.
  2. Install the hood hinge attaching bolts and the nuts.

    Tighten
    Tighten the hood hinge attaching bolts and the nuts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  3. Install the windshield washer nozzles. Refer to Washer Nozzle Replacement in Wiper/Washer Systems..
  4. Connect the wire to the under hood lamp, if equipped.
  5. Install the right and the left air inlet grille panels. Refer to Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement .
  6. Close the hood.
