TO: DEALER SERVICE MANAGER AND WARRANTY ADMINISTRATOR

SUBJECT: WARRANTY ADMINISTRATION - DEALER PROHIBITED USE OF LABOR OPERATION(S) AND/OR CLAIM TYPE

MODELS: ALL CHEVROLET MODELS

******************************************************************** IMPORTANT: 'GM OF CANADA' DEALERS ARE NOT AUTHORIZED TO UTILIZE THIS SERVICE BULLETIN. ********************************************************************

THE PURPOSE OF THIS BULLETIN IS TO INFORM ALL RETAIL SERVICE MANAGEMENT PERSONNEL OF THE CLAIM SUBMISSION PROCEDURES ASSOCIATED WITH DEALER PROHIBITED USE OF LABOR OPERATION(S) AND/OR CLAIM TYPE(S), REFERRED TO AS PROHIBITED CLAIM(S) IN THIS BULLETIN.

EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY, CHEVROLET REGIONAL SERVICE PERSONNEL HAVE THE ABILITY TO RESTRICT A DEALER'S USE OF SPECIFIC CLAIM(S). IF IT HAS BEEN DETERMINED THAT CERTAIN CLAIMS ARE TO BE PROHIBITED FROM DEALER USE, THE REGION, IN ADVANCE, WILL NOTIFY THE DEALER OPERATOR IN WRITING. FROM THAT POINT ONWARD, THE DEALER'S ABILITY TO PROCESS, IN THE NORMAL MANNER, THE SPECIFIED CLAIMS WILL BE PROHIBITED. THE FOLLOWING CLAIM SUBMISSION INFORMATION WILL ASSIST DEALERS THAT HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED OF THIS PROHIBITED CLAIM PROCESS.

CLAIM SUBMISSION PROCEDURES

DEALERS THAT HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED OF PROHIBITED CLAIM USAGE MUST SUBMIT THEIR CLAIMS WITH A ROUTING CODE H -DIVISION HELP (NOTE: ONLY THOSE CLAIMS CONTAINING THE SPECIFIED PROHIBITED LABOR OPERATION(S) AND/OR CLAIM TYPE(S) SHOULD USE THIS PROCESS.) PLEASE REFER TO THE WINS CLAIM PROCESSING MANUAL, SECTION IV, PAGE 10, NUMBER 3 ADDITIONAL DATA, FOR INFORMATION CONCERNING THIS PROCESS.

THE USE OF ROUTING CODE H REQUIRES THE DEALER ENTER COMMENTS. DEALERS SUBMITTING PROHIBITED CLAIMS MUST BEGIN THEIR COMMENTS WITH PROHIBITED LABOR OPERATION AND/OR PROHIBITED CLAIM TYPE. ADDITIONAL COMMENTS SUPPORTING THE PROHIBITED CLAIM SUBMISSION MAY BE NECESSARY, AND ARE LEFT UP TO THE DISCRETION OF YOUR DISTRICT SERVICE MANAGER, REFERRED TO AS DSM IN THE REMAINDER OF THE BULLETIN. PLEASE BE SURE TO INCLUDE THE DISTRICT SERVICE MANAGER'S REQUESTED INFORMATION IN THE COMMENT SECTION.

DEALER CLAIM MEMO INFORMATION FOR PROHIBITED CLAIMS WILL APPEAR WITH A RETURN CODE Z1 -CLAIM BEING REVIEWED-DO NOT RESUBMIT.

CLAIM AUTHORIZATION PROCEDURES

DEALER PROHIBITED CLAIMS MUST BE SUBMITTED WITH THE REQUIRED RETAIL AUTHORIZATION CODES FOR NORMAL CLAIM PAYMENT. DEALER PROHIBITED CLAIMS SUBMITTED WITH A ROUTING CODE H - DIVISION HELP, WILL BE DELIVERED ELECTRONICALLY TO THE APPROPRIATE DSM. IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE DSM TO REVIEW AND REJECT/AUTHORIZE THE DEALER'S PROHIBITED CLAIMS WITHIN A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME; WEEKLY WOULD BE APPROPRIATE WHERE POSSIBLE. DO NOT CONTACT THE DEALER ASSISTANCE CENTER FOR PROHIBITED CLAIM INQUIRY/AUTHORIZATION.

CLAIM RETURN INFORMATION

DEALER PROHIBITED CLAIMS THAT HAVE BEEN SUBMITTED WITHOUT THE USE OF A ROUTING CODE H WILL BE RETURNED WITH A RETURN CODE NA -CLAIM TYPE INELIGIBLE FOR SERVICE AGENT OR NL -LABOR OPERATION PROHIBITED TO SERVICE AGENT.

ONCE THE DISTRICT SERVICE MANAGER HAS REVIEWED THE DEALER'S PROHIBITED CLAIMS IT WILL EITHER BE AUTHORIZED FOR CLAIM PAYMENT OR RETURNED TO THE DEALER. IN THE EVENT THE DSM HAS CHOSEN TO REJECT ANY PORTION OR ALL OF THE PROHIBITED CLAIMS, THEY WILL BE RETURNED TO THE DEALER WITH SPECIFIC COMMENTS FROM THE DSM WITH RETURN CODE MB -CLAIM WHOLESALE REJECTED.
