  1. Connect the test leads and the test adapters to a J 39200 digital multimeter (DMM).
  2. Connect the leads of the J 39200 DMM together.
  3. Set the J 39200 DMM to the Ohms scale.
  4. Record the resistance value. Subtract this value from all resistance readings. If the meter you are using has a zeroing function, zero the meter.
  5. Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  6. Disconnect the battery cables.
  7. Connect a J 39200 DMM between CKT 250 (BLK) and ground.

Is the resistance less than the specified value?
