Removal Procedure

Notice: Use care when handling the coolant sensor. Damage to the coolant sensor will affect the operation of the fuel control system.

  1. Remove the negative battery cable.
  2. Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  3. Drain the cooling system below the level of the ECT sensor.
  4. Refer to Engine Cooling.

  5. Remove the electrical connector releasing locking tab.

  6. Object Number: 10932  Size: SH
  7. Remove the ECT Sensor.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 10932  Size: SH
  1. Install the ECT sensor to the engine.

  2. Object Number: 10931  Size: SH
  3. Refill the coolant system.
  4. Refer to Engine Cooling.

  5. Connect the negative battery cable.
